With her first two releases
Ord explored the various
facets of major recording
studios and big budget
production elements, but
with her third effort
things have gone in a
different, simpler direction.
For "Pretty Things",
Ord retreated to the quiet
mountain town of Orem,
Utah where she reinvented
her sound to reveal a
softer, more acoustic
side.
Of the genesis of "Pretty
Things", Ord was
in total control as she
states "I wanted
to try out a few ideas
that I'd been developing
for a while, and kind
of explore a new direction."
Which is exactly what
she did, writing, recording
and co-producing the scaled-down
album herself.
"I'm really proud
of this album because
it's the first time I've
really been in the drivers
seat for the whole experience.
The label, my manager,
everyone just left me
alone and let me do my
thing" states Ord
"I can't wait to
see what fans think."
